"A cheerful heart is the best medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones."
Proverbs 17:22
I have a Review Day—a day of summary and checking the red card.
This is already the third Sunday and the third summary of my cheerful, smile-filled, and love-filled (no, I’m not slipping into pathetic sentimentality like a guy in a shoe polish commercial) ADVENTURE with my HMF method—the method of changing life and playing the game of life, which allows me to improve by 1% every day. I do it day after day, and my life is truly getting better and better, although yesterday, things might have gone a little too far…
The thing is, yesterday, I couldn’t wipe the smile off my face the entire day. Really. Even though I was exhausted and totally wiped out—like a chef during peak hours in a fully packed restaurant.
Wait—exactly! I was that chef!
And yes—I was so busy that today—I admit without hesitation—I had a huge problem getting out of bed, even though I love my mornings, and they bring me so much joy (soon—bike, lake, church… oh, all the good things).
Back to that chef standing at the pass with another serving of Kalbshackbraten in one hand and a ladle of Randenkokossuppe in the other—smiling the whole time. Unconsciously, effortlessly, unstoppably.
I just couldn’t help it.
Why? I’m not entirely sure.
One thing I do know for certain—it could have looked like I had taken something before work (which, in some chef circles, is a common "boost"—luckily not in my kitchen, or at least I haven’t noticed it 😊).
It could have also looked like I was just laughing at someone or something, maybe even mocking.
Or it could have looked like I was simply an out-of-my-mind, dim-witted lemur in a human body, holding pots in my hands.
Lemurs are not exactly known for their exceptional culinary skills, but who knows what’s in their little lemur brains—maybe whole lemur cookbooks…
Now I have this image in my head of a lemur hosting a cooking show on YouTube, delivering a monologue like this:
"On a golden leaf bowl rests a velvety mousse of ripe banana and juicy mango, gently embraced by floral nectar. Crunchy pumpkin seeds and a pinch of cinnamon bark add depth, while fig accents intertwine with the delicate aroma of the jungle. For protein lovers, roasted crickets provide an exotic touch, creating a unique flavor combination that transports you to a tropical paradise. Each bite of this Lemur Delight is a true feast for the senses, where taste and nature blend into perfect harmony."
Oh yeah. Delicious! But I think I’ve gone too far with this lemur digression…
To the point.
Back to my smile and my constantly good mood.
I have only one answer for it:
My method works!
Really—day by day, things are getting better and better, more pleasant, and my body feels as if it’s getting younger.
My explanation for the permanent smile on my face:
"Yes! I’ve wanted to weigh less than 100kg for years! Stop giving me more sugar because we’re already overworked on insulin production, and the addiction department had its hands full (the body is a company 😊). Thanks for cutting out alcohol—it was already too much. In this case, the whole system took a deep breath of relief. Give me more fresh air, give me more movement and healthy food! MORE! MORE!"
That’s exactly what my body is saying, and it shows it through my smile.
That’s all about smiles, but I’d also like to briefly mention my blogs from the last six days:
All these blogs were written with full motivation and inspiration, driven by change and daily life. A lot of work, but also a lot of fun. My task list was almost always green, as fresh as spring grass.
Tiny shortcomings were usually due to lack of time or poor organization—for which I now scold myself and apologize, promising to improve! 😊
The red card (unfinished tasks) had only one task, which I have already completed, so today is a day of relaxation (except for work, of course—but that’s just how it is. Gastronomy takes no prisoners and chains you to the oars like a galley slave almost every weekend 😉. I love cooking, so I mix business with pleasure).
Week—completed ✅
Smile—natural 😃
Red card—cleared 🏆
Energy for the next challenges—stored 💪
Motivation—FULL! 🚀
