Success is a logical process managed by emotional beings. – Steve Chandler

Góðan dag!

Introduction:

Do you know who wins in this game called life? Not those who do everything perfectly. The winners are those who make fewer stupid mistakes. Just like in making money – the rich are not those who always invest well, but those who avoid losses.

Honesty. Honesty above all. First and foremost with yourself, and then with your closest ones, and so on.

Internal honesty is the foundation of my game with the HMF method and the 1% rule. The RED CARD is not introduced here without reason. It is on this card that I record all the uncompleted tasks that I must correct the next day (unfortunately increasing the task pool) or on the Review day, which for me falls on Sunday.

Yesterday, I messed up and did not fully complete two tasks (Premiere Pro Course and Online-Shop 5% better). Of course, I have an explanation. Maybe it’s not entirely convincing, but I’ll try to get through it – as always, simply and to the point:

I worked 12 hours with a one-hour break, during which I completed other tasks (related to my short-term goal: Health – exercise, basketball).

I think this is a fairly good excuse, and my reasoning passes both my internal verification and – I think – can be said out loud. I didn’t fail. Simply put – the day is not made of rubber and has its limitations.

Why did I give myself such tasks if I knew this would happen?

No, I didn’t know. And here is the crux of the whole situation. The plan was that I would have three hours of break during the day, but unfortunately, circumstances change. Life is flexible and does not always go along a single track. Simply put – the situation required more sacrifice from me and running the kitchen with a full house while preparing a larger amount of food for the evening. That’s it. Without me, it would have fallen apart, and I couldn’t allow that. (One of my tasks yesterday was: 100% AS A COOK. – I had to. Besides, I try to be a professional in every field I "practice" – so simply put, it would have been a greater loss than a win.)

I calculate the game. I play smart.

As you can see, much depends on how a given day, week, or month unfolds. Unfortunately, we do not always have control over external factors that influence our lives. My day yesterday is an example of this, and I am sure there will be many more such cases.

What to do so that these "stumbles" do not affect the action plan, do not demotivate, do not turn our desire into reluctance, and do not create a denial effect in us?

The 5+1 Rules for Executing My Tasks

(Five main tasks and one related to the short-term goal: "On 01.04.2025, I weigh 94 kg or less 😊")

  1. Honesty – an uncompleted goal is a goal on the RED CARD. Period. No excuses.
  2. Be 100% convinced that I truly wanted to do it, that I had it in my mind, and that one or two uncompleted goals were not just empty notes in the calendar, but I genuinely wanted to complete them – yet the situation did not allow it.
  3. This cannot become a rule! A stumble is a moment after which you must rise and move forward along the designated path. If we fall, we don’t lie down – because then we move backward. Forward, Brothers and Sisters!
  4. RED CARD – a red card in the calendar where we write down uncompleted tasks and – very importantly – the reason for their non-completion. My reason yesterday – unexpected 12 hours of work instead of the usual 9.
  5. The reason for the stumble – serious or justified – this means it cannot be, for example: "I had to watch another season of a TV series because it was so engaging... that I couldn't tear myself away from the screen." NO! A series can be, at most, a reward...
  6. Reward(I wrote about it on the blog: DE | EN)
    • A reward for completing tasks and goals.
    • Best on the Review day, when we complete tasks from the RED CARD.
    • The reward comes after...
  7. Analysis. The analysis of uncompleted daily tasks and RED CARD is crucial – try to adjust the following week according to uncompleted tasks, either reduce them or simply eliminate them.

That’s it. Think about it.

I am heading to Bavaria. Today, one of my tasks is a safe journey! That’s exactly how I’ll be driving – in retiree mode with a 10-hour time cushion. "Hurry slowly" – one of my mottos. Applied to driving, it takes on an even better meaning 😊

Motto for today:

THE GREAT ERAS OF OUR LIVES LIE WHERE\
WE MUSTER THE COURAGE\
TO TRANSFORM OUR DARKNESS INTO\
WHAT IS BEST WITHIN US.
