"Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realise they were the big things." ― Robert Brault

Hey ho!

There’s nothing like a good sleep. I know something about that—I slept for a total of about 10 hours yesterday. I’m following the Health plan in the HMF method cycle, so I’m forgiven, because sleep is the best way to regenerate the body after exertion and also helps shed unnecessary weight 😊 You could say I stuck to the plan. It wasn’t easy, but I did it. Phew... Job done.

Oh, I almost forgot:
Happy celebration to both you and me!

Yes—today is the day! The day of the best mood and the most successful decisions in all of 2025. Of course, that is until today—because tomorrow, this holiday will, with a near 100% certainty, repeat itself. And today will have to take off its laurel wreath with the inscription “The Most Successful Day of 2025.”

At the bottom, you can still see this day proudly wearing its wreath...

Do you know why today will be such a great day?
Because you will believe in it with all your heart. With all your strength and conviction—so much so that your subconscious will be fully convinced of it. So much that even if something, someone, or even you yourself try to break this thought—it will be blocked. Your subconscious will simply not pass it on to your conscious mind. And since these two work together and in agreement, today will not be in danger until tomorrow.

This is one of the motivational and foundational pillars of my HMF method.

We build slowly, with effort, from the ground up. And the foundation is the subconscious.

Let’s give it a clear message: today is the best day of 2025! It will then pass this on to your conscious mind, which will influence your brain, which will shape your perception and motivation, which in turn will affect your all-day smile—and ultimately, this will result in the best day of your life. Period.

How to Influence the Subconscious?

Simple. It’s like a prayer. Like a mantra. Just repeat it with full conviction in your mind, or even better—out loud (I shout like a singer who’s convinced they’re singing to playback. Playback—who came up with that?! How can people be deceived like this? Shameful!).

So, keep repeating it until you simply believe it:
"Today is the best day of the year!"

Done—try it. It works.

Motivation. A Worn-Out Word.

Today is Motivation Day in the Health cycle of my HMF method. I'm working towards a short-term goal:

"I weigh 97 kg on 01.03.2025."

And to achieve this, I need motivation.

Today’s secret to motivation—besides the already mentioned full trust and belief that today is the best day of 2025 (because it truly is!)—is noticing the small things.

In psychology, there is a concept called hedonic adaptation, which explains how quickly we become accustomed to changes in our lives—both positive and negative.

Winning the lottery brings excitement for only a short while, a job promotion quickly fades into routine, and so on. We see it happen every day—especially after shopping (we’ll talk about that tomorrow: How to Stop Spending Money on Unnecessary Things—because tomorrow is Foundation Day!).

Meanwhile, tiny, seemingly insignificant everyday experiences, if consciously noticed, can significantly impact our long-term sense of happiness.

That’s where the secret lies.

Let’s Jump Straight into an Example.

“The Waiter Who Became a Boss”

Well, I have to use an example from my industry.

Imagine a young man who starts working as a waiter in a small restaurant. His job seems monotonous—carrying plates, taking orders, cleaning tables. He dreams of something bigger, but he feels overwhelmed by the thought that success requires massive steps—starting his own business, securing investors, gaining experience he doesn’t yet have.

In other words, he feels demotivated by the enormity of the task.

One day, frustrated with his situation, he talks to a regular customer—an older restaurateur and experienced entrepreneur. The man tells him something that completely shifts his perspective:

"If you don’t see value in what you’re doing now, you won’t see it in the future either. Every great chef once started by serving coffee or washing dishes!"

From that day on, the young waiter changes his approach. Instead of complaining, he starts consciously paying attention to the small details of his job:

  • He observes which dishes are ordered the most and how customers react to them.
  • He watches how the head chef manages staff and inventory.
  • He takes note of plating and presentation techniques.
  • He learns how efficient service influences tips and customer return rates.
  • He keeps track of the key ingredients in the restaurant’s most popular dishes.

Each day, he learns something new—he improves and notices even the smallest progress, just 1%—exactly like in my method.

After a few months, he starts assisting with inventory orders. Later, he learns how to manage staff schedules. After two years, he is promoted to floor manager, and three years later, he gets an offer to co-open a new restaurant.

Now, with continued development, his path to success and fulfilling his dreams is clear.

This didn’t happen overnight!

Noticing the small things meant that instead of waiting for a big break, he grew a little every day and naturally moved toward his goal.

How Does This Change Motivation?

Many people lose motivation because they wait for a grand moment that will change their lives, instead of finding value in their daily actions.

When we shift our mindset and start appreciating the little things, our motivation increases because we can see progress.

Key Lesson:

Success isn’t about giant leaps, but about the ability to notice and make use of small things. Daily, conscious actions create habits that lead to significant changes.

If you learn to draw motivation from small progress, you will be more persistent and effective in achieving your goals. And that is the foundation of the HMF method.

Motto:

"Appreciate the little things, for they are what make up great happiness."
