DailyInspire - Shadow and dust

DailyInspire 2025

"Man is but a shadow and dust." — Horace

Let everyone listen—let everyone see! This day is ours to live and to work!

A smile! Chin up! Vinegar, water, and other "nasties" are already churning in the stomach. Flax has also been ground down, so it's time to start this fascinating day!

Today, I will deal with taxes and financial documents, as well as draft some of the dullest documents for an online store: the Impressum and Datenschutz. Unfortunately, at some point, these things must be done, and I follow a simple rule:

Difficult tasks first—everything else becomes easier.

In this case, the tasks are not difficult in terms of execution but rather monotonous. Even walking slowly exhausts me because boredom creeps in—let alone paragraphs and legal regulations! But no matter. Right after this blog and a visit to church, I will roll up my sleeves and get to work!

Today's opening quote is tied to the thought of impermanence. This thought, along with another quote—"From dust you came, and to dust you shall return"—has been lingering in my mind for three days now. At first, I thought it was just a coincidence, but...

In the Catholic Church, Lent begins—a time for reflection on transience and spiritual renewal. I must admit, I had forgotten about it because lately, I have felt as if I were in a perpetual Lent. Nevertheless, Catholics traditionally make Lenten commitments during this period—such as abstaining from meat or alcohol.

I will impose an additional challenge on myself as well—simply to honor this time, to test my willpower, and to strengthen my spiritual endurance.

I also want to offer my respect to God. Because I am grateful. Grateful for every day and every second of my life.

I thank God. Someone else may thank Providence, the Creator, or simply their own subconscious—that vast force dwelling within each of us.

It does not matter what you believe in—what matters is gratitude. To give thanks for life.

My prayer of gratitude is:

"Thank You, Lord, for my existence and for the world that surrounds me!"

How does this relate to the quote about dust and to the idea that we are but shadow and dust?

Allow me to illustrate with an example.

Mark chased success. Always forward, faster, harder—without a moment to catch his breath. His goal was crystal clear: more, better, higher. Each day was another step toward the summit, yet he never paused. He never noticed that life was unfolding around him—that the dawn painted the sky, that children were growing, that the rain carried its own scent.

He never heard the laughter of his own children. He never smelled the rain after a scorching day. Everything around him was merely a backdrop for his grand ambitions.

Until one day... everything stopped.

A sudden pain in his chest. A collapse to the ground. Silence.

Mark left this world as abruptly as he had lived—in a rush.

And in that moment, the truth became clear: he was but shadow and dust, as Horace wrote. He was dust returning to the earth, as the Bible says.

There was no time for one last message, one last call, one more day. No chance to say: "I love you," "Thank you," "I'm sorry."

Everything he had built remained in this world—but he himself ceased to exist in the blink of an eye. And all those moments he could have cherished—vanished forever.

This is not just Mark’s story. It could be anyone’s story. Yours. Mine.

You always have time.

The question is: Will you pause today, before it’s too late?

Does this mean that striving for success is meaningless? That working, building, and growing are not worthwhile? Quite the opposite!

Money is important—very important. Success grants freedom.

But it cannot be an end in itself. The fundamentals—faith, family, finances—must work together, in harmony. If you stake everything on one card, focusing solely on a single aspect, the rest will begin to crumble.

That is why financial growth must be balanced with other areas of life. If you play my HMF game, you already know that this works. The only requirement is to follow the rules—and truly play.

Simple steps, daily effort, consistency—these bring tangible results. This is certain. Inevitable.

It is a fact—only a matter of patience.

Do you enjoy it?

And what if you also enjoy what you do? If you treat building like a game—but a serious one, professional, refined to the highest level—victory is yours.

On top of that, you have fun while growing.

That’s how I feel about it.

This is my path. I build my business like a strategy in a game, develop it like a character in an RPG.

Could it get any better?

Not only are you destined for success, but you’re also enjoying the process.

I highly recommend it.

Appreciate life. Be grateful. Walk the right path—find happiness in building what truly matters, and start today, because tomorrow may be too late.

Today, I struck a somewhat nostalgic note…

Our lives consist of (perhaps even mostly) such moments—and they are not insignificant. They are fundamental.

Just as I fundamentally completed all my tasks yesterday.

I went to the sauna and the swimming pool. I followed my habits. I completed my courses.

My game has once again brought satisfying results—I climbed another 1% higher.

I am now over 1.5% progress into my five-year journey with the HMF method.

Time flies… So much of it has already passed, never to return…

I never want to waste another day again!

With this thought, I’ll end here.

Thank you.
A domani, amore!
