"What gets measured, gets improved." – Peter Drucker (Austrian-American economist and pioneer of modern management, considered the father of management by objectives).
Heartfelt greetings from the depths of my soul!
A beautiful day to build the strength of motivation, isn't it? Probably the best one this week! (No, not just because it's the only one 😊).
Simply put, today motivation needs to be at the level of the Mariana Trench—just in the opposite direction. A bit paradoxical? Maybe. But it's worth using such hyperboles to strive for something extraordinary. And the Mariana Trench certainly is—when it comes to depth, it's the most extreme. However, it's worth looking at the world this way: No matter the field, find something in which you are the best! (Of course, in a positive sense, not something like "I'm the best at drinking vodka the fastest" or "I'm the poorest person in the canton" 😊. That goes without saying.)
Let's get to the point.
I woke up at 4 a.m. and did a quick 20-minute meditation—I highly recommend such a practice, though I must admit, you need to be well-rested. That means allowing your body to get quality sleep, not just sleep. There's a huge difference, but that's a side note... Meditation is essential because it can put you right back to sleep—especially if you're lying down. I sat upright. The meditation, in which I mainly focused on my breath, gave me two key insights: the topic of today's blog and an overwhelming and piercing gratitude simply for being. Just that.
The blog topic was actually different yesterday, meant to fit the motivational tone of today. However, to maintain coherence and carefully address the non-mechanical nature of our physical and mental "self," I changed it. And now, it stands as follows:
Motivation within the HMF method is divided into:
Goals
Inspiration (Today's blog was actually supposed to be about this… Inspiration drawn from a great person. No, I won’t reveal who—it's a secret until next Wednesday. Be patient. Relax.)
Habits
Emotions
These are the fundamental components of our motivational actions in DailyInspire. I will describe each one throughout my journey. We still have 1,814 days, so I probably won’t miss anything—or at least I shouldn't.
Today, I want to focus on the measurability of goals and, to some extent, habits. These two motivational pillars in our DailyInspire game hold a fundamental and remarkably action-stimulating quality (my synonym for motivation):
MEASURABILITY.
When designing your goals, tasks, and habits (yes, your daily 5+1 tasks too—more on that in the DailyInspire game rules), we must consider their measurability.
How do we measure them?
How do we track ourselves?
What does it bring us?
Hold on—I'm about to answer, just as swiftly as a waiter after a tip.
The best way? Let me give you two examples—they’re always the most effective:
1. Task:
"I will repeat the sentence 'I am the best, and the world is beautiful!' 2x40 times."
This one is so simple that it barely needs explaining. Every time I have a task that involves repetitions, I mark a small check on my list next to the task. It means I’ve completed it once. And I keep going until, in this case, there are two check marks. Let them chirp together like two happy birds, singing the melody of a completed task.
2. Goal (short-term goal in the HMF method):
"On December 15, 2025, I successfully completed a Java programming course—intermediate level."
This is also straightforward. A short-term goal has what people call a "deadline" (an ugly word—I’d rather say “Happy End!”). Since it usually spans 1-2 months, the process is simple:
Create a list of steps leading to your goal.
For example, in this case:
Basics → Personal project → Beginner course → Personal project → Intermediate course → Exam.
Done! You got this! The key is to write it down. By hand.
3. Habit:
"I learn 2 new words every four days with a 1% improvement per session."
Same approach as with the short-term goal. Write it down! Yes, I know—it’s another piece of paper, more writing, another “hassle.”
To those lazy minds asking:
"But I don’t have time for that!"
Let me ask you back:
Do you have time to watch TV? To scroll TikTok? To chat aimlessly for an hour?
Unfortunately, life progress and real transformation require effort—until it becomes a habit. That’s it. This is not a casual board game over beer. This is about setting new tracks for your future.
So yes. Grab a notebook and a calendar- WRITE IT DOWN!
Quick math (which you can do on any calculator):
2 words per day
1 session every 4 days
1% improvement per session
Write it down: 2 x 1.01 every 4 days. Log it in your calendar for the next session, and that’s it. You won’t forget.
I always round up percentages:
If I reach 3.51, I count it as 4, and so on.
That means by day 96 of the year, I’ll only hit 3 in my calculations. Yes, it’s a slow process—but by then, I’ll already know 50 new words (because that’s 24 sessions!).
50 new words—no joke!
This method works in every measurable area. With consistency and patience, progress is inevitable.
Highly recommended – Kacper
Motivation is a powerful driving force, but on its own, it's not enough. We can feel motivated for a few days, but without clear, measurable goals, motivation fades fast.
So how do we make motivation work every single day?
1. Awareness of Progress = Stronger Motivation
Nothing fuels action more than visible results. When you see the number of words you’ve learned, repetitions you’ve completed, or tasks you’ve solved increasing, you feel satisfaction.
It’s like playing a game—and yes, we are playing a game here—where your XP (experience points) keep going up!
2. Small Steps → Big Results
Motivation often disappears when a goal seems too big. But what if you break it down into small, measurable steps?
That’s exactly why the 1% method in HMF exists—we should never forget it, not even for a single day. Because with it, every day becomes a success.
3. A ‘Checklist’ for Your Mind
Marking off a ✔️ next to a completed task works like a reward for your brain. Let it enjoy it! It’s a signal:
"I did it! Let’s keep going! It was worth it! There are real results!"
Kacper, you little champion, how did you do that?! It seemed impossible just a while ago!
Even if your day was tough, one small success builds momentum. BELIEVE IT!
4. Calendar + Written Record = Lasting Motivation
When you have a physical record of your progress, you see the continuity—and you don’t want to break it.
That’s more motivating than any app. Touch it. Feel it. Even smell it.
I know—it sounds silly, but it’s not… Go ahead—smell it. No one’s watching 😊.
Your calendar and notebook = your progress!
1. Every morning, set one measurable goal (e.g., “Today I will do 40 repetitions of a positive affirmation.”).
2. Every evening, check your list and mark tasks as completed.
3. Once a week, review your progress—you’ll be amazed at how much you’ve accomplished!
That’s why we have a Review & Reflection Day—make sure to check in! You’ll feel so much happiness that you’ll never again say “Tomorrow, I have to…”—it will be “Tomorrow, I WANT to!”
